Salmon, when baked in foil, is incredibly moist and tender.  Top it with lemon pepper, garlic powder and grated parmesan or romano cheese and you have an explosion of flavors with every mouthful.

This recipe is one of our favorites and is a regular on the menu. It takes 5 min to prep and cooks up in 15 min. Best of all, it is an easy clean up, you just ball up the foil and toss it. It doesn’t get much easier or better than this.

Please see the recipe card below for exact amounts and directions.

Ingredient Round Up

  • Salmon fillet(s)
  • Lemon pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Grated parmesan or romano cheese

Making the Salmon

  • When I am cooking one or two fillets, I normally use the air fryer. For more fillets, I switch to my oven. Preheat the oven is you are going the traditional route.
  • Line a shallow baking tray with a large enough piece of aluminum foil that can be folded into a packet.
  • Lightly spray the bottom of the foil with Pam.
  • Place the salmon fillet on the foil lined baking tray. At this point, I normally run my fingers over the salmon feeling for bones that may have been missed.

  • Evenly sprinkle the lemon pepper and garlic powder over the top of the salmon.

  • Sprinkle the Parmesan or Romano cheese over the top of the salmon. Fold the foil over and roll it up on the three sides to form a foil packet. Pop the salmon in the air fryer or oven for the specified baking time.
  • Remove the salmon from the air fryer or oven when done. Open up the foil packet and serve.

Serving Ideas

  • Lemon pepper, garlic and parmesan salmon can be served on a large salad for either lunch or dinner.
  • It can be accompanied by a vegetable side such as broccoli, asparagus, corn or any other vegetable you like.
  • This salmon can be served with a baked potato or a side of gnocchi or tortellini.

  • 1 salmon fillet (see note at bottom)
  • ¼ tsp lemon pepper
  • 2 pinches garlic powder
  • tbsp grated romano or parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Line a shallow baking dish with a piece of aluminum foil that can be folded into a packet around the salmon.

  • Place the salmon fillet(s) on the foil. Run your fingers over it looking for any bones that may have been missed before it was packaged for sale.
  • Evenly sprinkle the lemon pepper and garlic powder over the salmon fillet.
  • Evenly sprinkle the grated romano or parmesan over the top of the salmon.
  • Fold the top of the foil over the salmon and fold the foil over on the 3 sides crimping them to form an air tight sealed packet.
  • For 1 or 2 salmon fillets, place the pan with the foil packet into an air fryer and cook at 400℉ for 15 min if the fillets are thick and 12-13 min if they are thin.
If you are making more than 2 salmon fillets, you can bake them in a traditional oven preheated to 400℉. Cook for15 min if the fillets are on the thick side and slightly less time if they are thin.
